This role will be crucial in delivering the Mayor’s ambitions to reinvigorate recycling and accelerate the transition to a circular economy in London. The successful candidate will be someone with proven interest and experience in areas including, the circular economy, green finance, recycling and materials recovery and climate change mitigation.
The new Chair will play a vital leadership role in delivering the Mayor of London’s priorities, including:
- Getting London back on track to reaching a 65% recycling rate by 2030;
- Creating jobs in re-use, repair, remanufacturing and materials innovation to support London’s transition to the circular economy;
- London becoming a zero carbon city by 2050.
The Mayor of London has decided to find a new Chair via an open recruitment process in order to attract someone who has the best combination of skills and expertise to take his important agenda forward.
