Steve Hacking

Steve spent the first few years of his career as an engineering consultant before moving into strategy consultancy.  He has worked as a commercial adviser to SMEs and SME investors for more than 20 years.  He specialises in commercial reviews, strategy, business planning, and performance improvement.

Steve has a degree in Engineering from Cambridge University, a masters in Engineering from Imperial College, and an MBA from INSEAD.

Charmian Love

Charmian believes in the power of business as a force for good. Over the course of her career, she has experienced first-hand what it is like to be an entrepreneur, an intrapreneur and a systempreneur.

Charmian Co-Founded Volans, a change agency, in 2008 with John Elkington and Pamela Hartigan. Volans was the second UK company to certify as a B Corp – and in 2015 she went on to start B Lab UK with fellow entrepreneur, James Perry, where she continues to support the growth of the global B Corp movement. In addition to her role as Chair of B Lab UK, Charmian also sits the board of B Team UK, is a member of the Sustainability Advisory Council at the ICAEW (because she also believes that accountants will save the world) and a member of The London Waste and Recycling Board’s (LWARB) Investment Committee.

In her role as the Skoll Centre’s Entrepreneur in residence at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, Charmian is focused on creating spaces for students interested in exploring the role of business in solving the world’s most complex challenges. She is also guiding the development of the newly launched Circular Economy Lab and is teaching an MBA course on the subject this spring.

Over the course of her career, Charmian has held the position of Special Advisor for many leading organisations including Grant Thornton and Bridges Ventures and has had the pleasure of working with leadership teams from corporations including Nike, Allianz and HP. You can find her writing on subjects ranging from heliotropy to systempreneurship in publications including HBR, Wired, Fast Company, Stanford Social Innovation Review.

A proud Canadian, Charmian started her career at BCG after receiving her MBA from Harvard Business School and holds a degree in Art History from Queen’s University. She lives in South London with her soulmate and her two wonderful rugby-loving sons.

Anna Hyde

Anna Hyde has a background in law, advising on corporate and energy transactions, most recently with Allen & Overy. She spent three years in Tokyo where she worked for Mitsubishi Corporation in their Energy team.

In 2015 Anna moved to Bethnal Green Ventures, an early stage investor and leading accelerator programme for social ventures. As Partner and Investment Manager, Anna manages BGV’s portfolio of over 60 ventures that are using technology to solve social and environmental challenges. She has a proven track-record in identifying and nurturing tech start-ups who have the potential to have real social impact, and acts as adviser and board observer to a number of businesses working across sectors including edtech, sustainability and healthcare.
